Miss Burr's 1st Grade
Hello! My name is Miss Burr and I am looking forward to meeting you all virtually on Tuesday, September 8th! I will be your first grade teacher at Molly Stark Elementary School. We will have a busy year full of fun and new learning experiences! We will start with using our new online learning platform, SeeSaw as well as use Zoom for our virtual classroom (more information to come soon).
This is my seventh year teaching first grade at Molly Stark Elementary School. I have taught Middle School and reading/math intervention in the past. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at the University of New England and a Master’s in Literacy at University at Albany. Being from Maine, I am a huge New England sports fan and love getting to the beach when I can. I love riding the ocean waves with my boogie board. Gardening, cooking, sewing, and reading are some of my favorite hobbies. During the year, I can’t wait to share with you all of my favorite books!
We will be learning about many things this year, such as the life cycle of a plant, addition and subtraction within 20, reading and writing words with more than one syllable, and so much more! We will also focus on how to be safe, kind, respectful, and responsible first grade citizens inside and outside the classroom.
