Welcome 3rd Grade!

Welcome to Mrs. Mentz’s 2020-2021 Third Grade Class!
The air is starting to turn crisp. The days are getting shorter. The Lazy Susans and Hydrangeas are blooming and THAT means school is going to start pretty soon!
We will begin our school year remotely using Google Classroom. I will share more information as we get closer, so please don’t worry over the next couple of weeks. We will have daily meetings and assignments. I will be available every day during the school week and will work with families to help everyone navigate learning in these interesting times.
I look forward to learning about each one of you! You might like to know a little bit about me. I am married to my wonderful husband, Brian. I have two ½ brothers, a step-brother and step-sister. They live in Connecticut, South Carolina, San Francisco and Oregon. Brian and I have two children, Connor and Rio. I’ve lived in quite a few places. My favorites have been San Francisco, Martha’s Vineyard, and Vermont. I currently live with my family, cats, ducks and chickens in the Village of Jacksonville. I have lived here for 14 years. We have a little cabin in Northern Vermont in a clearing in the woods that we love to visit.
I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts with a major in Environmental Design and a master’s degree in Education from the University of New Haven.
I have been teaching for 10 years and this is my second year at Molly Stark. I love teaching and I love third grade. It is such an important year for learning!
I look forward to seeing everyone on September 8th. If you have any questions about this new academic year, or if you would just like to say hi, please feel free to call or email!
I can’t wait to start learning with you and to see what this year has in store for us!
