Weekly Update

Dear Molly Stark Community,

We are so proud for our learners in Grades 3,4,5 who “Showed What They Know” on the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC). For more information on the SBAC please visit this site: http://www.smarterbalanced.org/

Family Conferences: Week of April 4th. Our classroom teachers K-5 will be communicating with all our families to set a time to review your learner/learners report card/cards and progress.

It is extremely important to continue the partnership between our families and the school. We welcome feedback in our systems and procedures, communication, curriculum, assessments, health and wellness, nutrition, and family engagement. Any questions about Family Conferences please reach out to your learner’s teacher. Our specials teachers (Physical Education, Music, Art), Special Educators, Specialists (OT, PT, SLP), interventionists, and school counselors are available to attend conferences. Please let your classroom teacher know what staff member you would like to attend the conference.

Parent-Teacher Group- Next meeting April 4th, 5:30 pm - zoom link will be shared next week.

Thank you to the PTG for their continued support with school fundraisers, donations for our learners to have fun sleds during our snow months at recess, donations for staff recognition, and asking what our school community needs at this time. We are truly grateful to our members of the Parent-Teacher Group-

Sending Food to School- Please review our handbook procedure for food. Due to allergies, we need to be respectful of all learners' nutritional diets. We also encourage healthy snacks and drinks with a limited amount of sugar. We have a District Nutrition Committee discussing how we can share ideas for healthy snacks, nutrition, and physical activity. Here is information from our Handbook- If you wish to send in treats for your child’s class, please contact the teacher before doing so that we can assure that the treat aligns with our nutrition policy and protects students who may have a food allergy. Thank you for your support in this effort.

School and Family Connection- Our next event at Willowbrook Community Building will be on Monday, April 25,2022, the first day back from our Spring Break. Thank you to Lisa Halkias, our School Social Worker, who has planned and prepared these fun events to connect with our Molly Stark families. Pizza is provided and an opportunity to meet our staff, enjoy an activity or two, and be able to participate in a free raffle to win a theme basket of goodies! All our families are welcomed!

Have a great week everyone,

Appreciation & Gratitude,

Principal Bazyk
